Education Networking Committee
Develop educational programming for the 2018 Fall Meeting and 2019 Annual Meeting based on demographic and subgroup survey results, respectively, to inform the needs assessment. 
       a. Develop a timeline to have topics and speakers confirmed 3 months prior to 2018 Fall Meeting and 6 months prior to 2019 Annual Meeting.
       b. Develop a general timeline for Education and Networking Committee to follow in upcoming years.
Coordinate budget with Executive Committee, if needed for both meetings.     
Investigate the feasibility of an educational opportunity outside meetings (journal club, webinar, podcast) within the organization.  
Develop a plan for 2018 Fall Meeting and 2019 Annual Meeting that encourages interaction and networking among members.
       a. Investigate new schedule for Welcome Reception at 2018 Fall Meeting.
Encourage poll technology for all continuing education sessions among speakers at 2018 Fall Meeting and 2019 Spring Meeting.
Collaborate with the Executive Committee to investigate a fundraising activity for SCSHP to take place during the 2018 Fall and 2019 Annual Meeting. 
Nominate at least 1 individual for an SCSHP award.
Review the last three years of membership attendance and expenditures with Treasurer to better help future budget projections. 
Communicate and engage SCSHP members in committee activities. 
Write a brief summary of the committee’s activities to be included in a minimum of two newsletters.
Summarize committee activities in a final written report and submit to the President and President-Elect.
Develop charges for the 2019-2020 committee and submit to President and President-Elect.

 

Professional Affairs Task Force
Investigate donations to the SCSHP Foundation over the past three years.
      *Promote contribution to the SCSHP Foundation.
Disseminate information to the SCSHP membership regarding opportunities within ASHP (i.e., councils, committees, advisory groups, etc.).
      *Promote, identify, and/or nominate at least one SCSHP member for ASHP award, committee, council, etc.
      *Write a letter of recommendation/nomination, if needed.
Communicate and inform the SCSHP membership on ASHP Professional matters.
Continue with opportunities for the Pharmacy Practice Advancement Initiative.
       *Investigate recognition for “best practices”. 
       *Create application/nomination process.
       *Develop criteria by which applications/nominations are graded.
       *Identify and recognize a recipient with grant funding, to expand “best practices”.
Ensure the affiliation package is complete prior to sending to ASHP in August 2018.
Respond to other entities beyond ASHP, such as TJC, FDA, USP, etc.

Membership Committee

Continue to develop recommendations to increase and retain SCSHP members, and work with the Executive Committee on budgeted funds.
Update the welcome email document and send to personalized emails to all new members; personalized congratulatory resident emails in mid-to-late June; send personalized student emails in Fall. 
Continue to monitor and analyze SCSHP membership data to determine the number of new memberships per month and track yearly growth. 
Collaborate with Communications Committee to implement the New Member Recognition, Pharmacy Technician Member Recognition, Resident Member Recognition, and Student Member Recognition.   
Coordinate a graduating student/resident retention letter with the Student and Resident Committees.
Coordinate a welcoming packet for pharmacy technicians and Directors of Pharmacy.
       a. Investigate other ways to retain membership among pharmacy technicians and directors/managers.
Investigate professional development for new practitioners through mentorship program with Student and Resident committee.
Nominate at least 1 individual for an SCSHP award.

Student and Resident Affairs Committee

Conduct student and resident member demographics survey to implement strategies to increase membership and engagement.
Investigate Travel Awards for Annual Meeting for student and resident members.
Develop materials (video, promos, website) designed to maximize student and resident interest in SCSHP.  
Identify opportunities in which student and resident members of SCSHP may participate, including mentorship programs.  
       *Collaborate with the Membership Committee.
Coordinate a graduating student/resident retention letter with the Membership Committee.
Investigate additional strategies to market health-system pharmacy to current/potential student members. 
Continue to organize and host poster sessions at the 2019 Annual Meeting.
Continue to organize and host clinical skills competition at 2018 Fall Meeting.
      *Review engagement of attendees of spring clinical competition in anticipation of hosting again at the 2019 Annual Meeting.
Continue to recruit, promote, and organize the residency showcase at the 2018 Fall Meeting.
Review any budget items from the Student and Resident Committee over the last four years with Treasurer to better help future budget projections. 
Nominate at least 1 individual for an SCSHP award.
Communicate and engage SCSHP members in committee activities. 
Write a brief summary of the committee’s activities to be included in a minimum of two newsletters.
Summarize committee activities in a final written report and submit to the President and President-Elect.

Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee
Provide updates on the legislative concerns of SCSHP that affect its members and how the organization may assist with their efforts.
       *Determine frequency for ddisseminating information as “Advocacy Minutes” regarding legislative issues to membership. 
       *Disseminate information to Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and/or Directors via GroupMe App, when needed.
Provide the membership with various means that they can self-advocate for pertinent legislative issues that pertain to the SCSHP membership.   
       *Host at least one letter writing campaign for the membership.
       *Integrate a toolkit on the SCSHP website related to legislative affairs and advocacy in collaboration with SCPhA Advocacy Committee. 
       *Investigate feasibility of SCSHP members sharing compelling narrative/practice highlight/patient/provider videos to demonstrate successful practices.
       *Invite Senate or Representative to shadow pharmacist at clinical site for September or October.
       *Promote involvement of student pharmacists at State House.
Nominate at least 1 individual for an SCSHP award.

Communicate and engage SCSHP members in committee activities.

Nominations and Awards Committee
Assemble a slate of candidates for upcoming SCSHP offices.  
Solicit nominations for the SCSHP Awards.  
       *Coordinate with the Executive Committee regarding budgeting.
       *Advertise awards with Communications Committee.
Create criteria for Student Chapter of the Year.
       *Advertise new award for Student Chapter of the Year.
Continue to recognize outgoing SCSHP officers with a plaque or other recognition award and coordinate with the Executive Committee regarding budgeting.
Continue to recognize SCSHP award recipients with a plaque or other recognition award and coordinate with the Executive Committee regarding budgeting.
Recognize SCSHP Junior Board Members with a plaque or other recognition award and coordinate with the Executive Committee regarding budgeting.
Review and update, if needed, the timeline for officer nominations, and SCSHP awards.
Review language regarding nominations for officer positions, if needed.
Review any budget items from the Nominations and Awards Committee over the last three years with Treasurer to better help future budget projections. 
Communicate and engage SCSHP members in committee activities. 
Write a brief summary of the committee’s activities to be included in a minimum of two newsletters.
Summarize committee activities in a final written report and submit to the President and President-Elect.

Communication's Committee

Create quarterly reports/newsletters for distribution to SCSHP membership
Investigate upload of meeting minutes to website for review by members.
Create semi-annual SCSHP News Briefs by placing a call for members to submit noteworthy accomplishments.  
Oversee upgrade to website. 
     *Investigate promotion of tools and other resources through the website. 
     *Maintain a list of award recipients for the website.
Continue the SCSHP Facebook page as a tool to advertise activities and expand networking. 
     *Suggest measures to improve member knowledge/utilization of the SCSHP Facebook page and Instagram account. 
Create a poster to be presented at the 2019 Annual Meeting on the 2018-2019 activities of SCSHP. 
Nominate at least 1 individual for an SCSHP award.
Communicate and engage SCSHP members in committee activities. 
Summarize committee activities in a final written report and submit to the President and President-Elect.
