SCSHP Call for Candidates

SCSHP has a variety of leaders within in the state. We are calling on you to step up and play a larger role in the profession by being a member of the SCSHP Board of Directors. Being a part of the Board is an experience that can lead to a better understanding of how the Society operates, its goals and plans for the future. Having a diverse group of members on the Board from different areas of specialty is important because it broadens the scope of discussion and leads to decision-making that is fair and balanced and beneficial for the Society. If you feel that you possess the qualities that will help to lead and guide the Society forward, we are looking for you!


The open positions for the 2018 election are:

President Elect



Regional Directors-Region I (Upstate)

Region III (Midlands)

Region V (Low Country)

Candidate nominations are due by January 15, 2018. 


The President-Elect shall perform the duties of the President when the President is unable to do so. The President-Elect shall be a member of the Board of Directors and serve as its Vice Chairman. The President-Elect should begin to develop preliminary goals and objectives for the following year. The President Elect will serve a three year term: President Elect (first year), President (second year), Immediate Past President (third year).


The Secretary shall ensure that minutes are kept for the sessions of the Society. The Secretary will
coordinate with Executive Management Firm that notifications are sent to all members of the Board of
all Board Meetings.

The Regional Director's role is to represent their region at the Board Meeting and to represent the Board in their region. The Regional Board Members are voting members of the SCSHP Board and shall serve a two-year term.

SCSHP Board Members are selected via an electronic ballot. Only eligible members of the Society will vote on Officer/Board candidates.
