Georgetown Hospital System Appoints Pharmacists to Key Roles
in Reorganized Healthcare Improvement Department
Early August, Georgetown Hospital System announced a reorganization of the Quality Management department. The department, now called the Healthcare Improvement Department, will focus its efforts on continuing to highlight organizational initiatives aimed at quality patient care.
Monica Barrington, RPh, MPH, FASCP is the new Director for Healthcare Improvement Department. Monica joined Waccamaw Community Hospital pharmacy in 2008. Monica has a long and successful career in Performance Improvement and is a nationally recognized leader in the field.
Greg Nobles, R.Ph. who was the Medication Reconciliation Coordinator at Georgetown Hospital System since 2005, assumed the role of GHS Accreditation Manager/ Medication Safety Officer. Greg has received national recognition for his efforts in medication safety. The Hospital System is one of 13 National Mentor Hospitals appointed by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Greg is a valuable resource for our success in the organizational Joint Commission Survey this past winter. He will be applying his knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and Team Resource Training to the new department.
